Afridi: Feud came under discussionThe Pakistan Cricket Board have suspended selector Mohammad Ilyas after he became embroiled in the row with Shahid Afridi.
Ilyas has been served with two show-cause notices relating to separate appearances in the media.
The first charge relates to an appearance on a June 3 television programme, on which banned former skipper Salman Butt was a part of a panel, discussing Afridi's conditional retirement.
Ilyas has also been charged for comments made on a radio station on June 6 when he hit back at criticisms from Afridi about his role as a selector.
"The contract of Mr Mohammad Ilyas (member national selection committee) with PCB has been suspended with immediate effect for violating the Clauses 8 and 9 of the same," a PCB statement read.
"Show-cause notices were issued to Mr Ilyas on June 3 and June 6, 2011 to which he replied.
"His reply was not found satisfactory as it was observed that he participated in a talk show despite being warned.
"His case will now be referred to the PCB Disciplinary Committee as per PCB (Conduct of Disciplinary Proceedings) Policy 2007.
"The Committee will be formed in due course and he will be informed about the date of his appearance before that Committee accordingly."
Ilyas' appearance alongside Butt looms as the more serious charge as under International Cricket Council regulations no board member can interact with a banned player.
