Nottinghamshire pace bowler Andy Carter believes Warwickshire will be "gunning for revenge" when the sides meet in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday.

The Bears make the short trip to Nottingham smarting from a narrow 28-run defeat to the Outlaws at Edgbaston on Wednesday night.

Nottinghamshire, who lead the Friends life t20 North Group with three wins from their opening four matches, were thwarted in their attempts to maintain their 100 per cent record by the elements when rain ruined their derby encounter with Leicestershire on Friday night.

And Carter told skysports.com that both teams have plenty to play for at Trent Bridge.

"We both go into the match a little disappointed, us because of the rain at Leicester on Friday night, and them because of their result against us on Wednesday," he said.

"They will obviously be gunning for revenge, however we know we have the quality to beat them again and we are playing some very good cricket in the competition.

"Both teams are stacked with international talent and there should be a fantastic atmosphere at Trent Bridge so hopefully we can maintain our great start."

Australian duo Adam Voges and T20 captain David Hussey will be available for Nottinghamshire throughout the competition as the Outlaws look to reach Finals Day for the third time.

A runners-up spot back in 2006 remains their best run in the shortest format, however Carter believes the Outlaws now have a side capable of going all the way.

"We certainly have one of the strongest batting line-ups in the competition, especially with Voges and Huss available throughout," he added.

"We broke a club record with the (215-6) total we posted against Yorkshire earlier in the competition and we practically bat all the way down, until me!"

Carter has come into his own in the early stages of the competition, claiming six wickets in the opening two matches before proving a tad expensive against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Speaking on his own form, the 22-year-old, who earned a call-up to the England Lions squad prior to the new season, said: "It was very frustrating to pick up an injury and miss the opening County Championship matches however hopefully that is behind me now.

"I enjoy the buzz of the 20-over game, but it is pretty unforgiving for bowlers when the ball keeps disappearing to the boundary.

"Hopefully I can keep bowling in the right areas and help us grab another victory against Warwickshire."
